Travel - Temporary Assignment
This travel nursing opening supports a primarily surgical department with some medical overlap to meet patient needs when bed availability requires it. The assignment runs for 13 weeks with agency scheduling typically every other weekend, and the manager is open to discussing holiday requests. The unit features 35 private patient rooms with two nurses stations, a shift supervisor, and patient care techs on each shift.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care to adults in a surgical-focused unit with medical overlap as bed availability allows
- monitor and assess patient status, administer medications, and implement care plans per physician orders and protocol
- collaborate with the shift supervisor, patient care technicians, and the broader care team to ensure safe, timely care and effective handoffs
- document care activities accurately in the electronic medical record and maintain up-to-date patient charts
- respond to changes in patient condition, initiate appropriate escalation, and support patient safety and comfort
- participate in unit routines, infection control practices, and patient/family education as needed

Requirements
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
- Current CPR/BLS; ACLS preferred or as required by unit policy
- Ability to work in a hospital-equivalent setting with 12-hour shifts
- Willingness to work in a surgical/medical overlap environment and to adapt as bed availability changes
- Eligibility for a 13-week travel assignment and ability to travel as required
