Responsibilities
- Operate computed tomography (CT) equipment to produce cross-sectional images used for diagnosis; perform imaging procedures beyond CT, including general radiography and fluoroscopy as needed
- Produce sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation
- Use PACS and teleradiology systems to transfer images to the appropriate location
- Maintain accurate patient records, imaging files, and related billing information; adhere to HIPAA and patient confidentiality guidelines
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of imaging equipment and manage supply inventory
- Assess patient age range from adolescence through geriatrics and apply appropriate imaging protocols; ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
Requirements
- Active radiologic technology license in California and ARRT registration with CT credential (R.T. (R)(CT) OR R.T. (R)(ARRT))
- Advanced CT certification (Required in OR and HI; Preferred in CA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Fluoroscopy license in California if fluoroscopy is operated
- Venipuncture certification (if administering contrast materials)
- Minimum of two years of recent radiology experience
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology (preferred)
- Current nursing license per the state of assignment
