Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse – PCU travel assignment in Burlington, VT, United States. Start date 05/28/2026 for a 4-week contract. Weekly pay range $2,220–$2,301 per week. Guaranteed hours: not guaranteed. Shift: 3x12 Nights. Work setting: hospital. This assignment focuses on Cardiac Progressive Care Unit with telemetry and post-operative cardiac care; Epic experience is required.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for PCU patients, including post-operative cardiac cases, with continuous monitoring and assessment
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and document in the EMR (Epic) accurately and timely
- Monitor hemodynamics, telemetry, vitals, and patient status; respond to changes and escalate to the medical team as indicated
- Collaborate with cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and other disciplines to plan care and discharge for Day 1 post-op hearts (open or closed)
- Educate patients and families, coordinate care plans, and ensure patient safety and infection control standards
- Maintain flexibility to float to similar units as needed and support unit operations
Requirements
- Active RN license on file at time of submission; Vermont license or eligibility required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; NIHSS certification required prior to start; PCCN preferred
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required
- Minimum 2 years RN experience; at least 1 year in a PCU/cediatric? No, PCU/cardiac progress care; Cardiac, cardiothoracic, vascular experience required
- Post-operative Day 1 hearts experience (open and closed) required to submit
- Large trauma Level 1 experience within the last year
- Reliable transportation to and from shifts; ability to work in a hospital setting; willingness to work weekends
