Care setting: Emergency behavioral health services unit handling cases for patients ages 5 and up within a hospital-based behavioral health program

Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process in the emergency behavioral health services unit
- Develop and periodically update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care; evaluate patient outcomes and identify available resources
- Monitor patient status; administer medications per orders; document care and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Implement crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff
- Collaborate with psychiatry, psychology, social work, and nursing/ancillary teams; coordinate referrals, goals, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with policies, privacy (HIPAA), and quality standards
Requirements
- Active Maine RN license
- BLS certification
- CPI training current prior to start
- At least 1 year of previous mental health nursing experience
- Associate degree in Nursing (2-year)
- Ability to work day shift in a fast-paced emergency behavioral health setting; strong written and verbal communication skills
