Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Long-Term Care in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This travel, temporary assignment starts 05/15/2026 for 8 weeks. Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents during night shifts in a long-term care setting, including monitoring conditions and delivering individualized care plans.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, document in the medical record, verify orders, and adhere to the five rights of medication administration.
- Assess residents, monitor vital signs, recognize changes in condition, and report to the on-duty RN for any escalation.
- Perform routine nursing duties such as wound care, dressing changes, basic IV management (as scope allows), infection control, and safety monitoring to prevent falls and adverse events.
- Update and communicate care plans, progress notes, and critical handoffs to daytime staff, ensuring continuity of care between shifts.
- Provide compassionate communication with residents and families, preserve resident dignity, and maintain professional boundaries throughout the shift.
Requirements
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Mexico in good standing.
- Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet guaranteed hours.
- Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred but not required; strong clinical skills and reliable teamwork are essential.
