Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to obstetric patients in the L&D unit, including triage and ongoing monitoring
- Continuously monitor maternal vital signs and fetal heart rate; assess labor progression and cervical changes
- Administer medications as ordered (analgesia, antibiotics, tocolytics) and monitor for adverse effects
- Assist with labor, delivery, cesarean births, and immediate newborn care as needed
- Perform nursing assessments, document in the Epic system, and ensure accurate charting
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and other team members; respond to obstetric emergencies and educate patients and families
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery or high-risk obstetric nursing experience
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring Certification (Advanced)
- Epic electronic medical record experience required
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; every other weekend
- Travel nursing experience preferred
