Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients undergoing imaging procedures, including CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, X-ray, and ultrasound.
- Monitor telemetry, vital signs, and overall patient status; respond to changes in condition during imaging workflows.
- Prepare patients for imaging, administer medications or contrast as ordered, manage IV access, and assist radiology staff during procedures.
- Ensure patient safety through adherence to infection control practices, equipment safety, radiation safety principles, and proper use of shielding.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient education in the electronic medical record; coordinate care with radiology technologists and physicians.
- Support unit operations and patient flow, including adherence to on-call requirements per unit needs.
Requirements
- Active New York RN license
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification
- ACLS (American Heart Association) certification
- Telemetry experience required
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nursing experience
- Eligibility to work in a diagnostic imaging clinical environment
