Registered Nurse, Med Surg with stroke stepdown - travel assignment in Utica, NY. Start date 07/27/2026 for a 13-week assignment. Weekly pay range: $2,055–$2,150 with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. Shift: Nights, 2x3. Hospital unit setting with floating to other units as needed; EMR: EPIC.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult patients on a Med/Surg stroke stepdown unit, including those with stroke, altered mental status, renal, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and related conditions
- Monitor neurological status with regular neuro assessments; promptly identify and communicate changes in patient condition
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies; manage IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes as needed
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans; assist with discharge planning and patient education
- Document in the EPIC EMR; follow unit protocols and safety standards; respond to changes in patient status and escalate as appropriate
- Float to other units as required to support patient care needs
Requirements
- Active RN license in New York; NURSYS verification of licenses
- 2+ years of Med/Surg experience with stroke stepdown exposure
- Current AHA BLS certification; NIHSS certification (NIHSS is required for this unit and can be obtained prior to start)
- Travel experience required; resume must document prior travel assignments
- EPIC EMR experience; ability to document accurately and timely
- Driver’s license with address that matches demographics; RTO (time off) must be included at submission
