Speech Language Pathologist – Acute Care in a long-term care/nursing home setting in Canaan, Connecticut. Start date: 08/01/2026. This is a 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed 35 hours per week. Earn between $2,378 per week and $2,448 per week. Shift: 08:00–16:30, 5x8 days. This assignment is managed through Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing assessments for residents in a long-term care setting.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans; monitor progress; adjust goals as needed.
- Screen for swallowing difficulties; perform bedside swallow evaluations and refer for instrumental assessments as appropriate.
- Provide direct therapy to residents; educate family and care staff on communication strategies and dietary modifications.
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans in the medical record in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, OT, PT, social work) to support care planning and discharge planning.
Requirements
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist license in Connecticut or eligibility for licensure.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Experience in acute care or skilled nursing settings is preferred.
- Ability to work 8-hour shifts; travel assignment; 13-week contract; 35 guaranteed hours per week.
- Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
