Travel Licensed Practical Nurse Long Term Care Job

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents within a corrections healthcare setting, focusing on long-term care needs, safety, and dignity.
- Administer prescribed medications, document administration accurately, monitor for adverse reactions, and report significant changes to the supervising nurse.
- Perform routine assessments, obtain and interpret vital signs, wound care, and basic nursing procedures per physician orders and facility policy.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, medical, behavioral health) to develop and adjust care plans, ensure continuity of care, and support behavioral health needs as applicable.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensure proper infection control practices, and uphold standards of sanitation and patient privacy in a secure environment.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as residents’ care plans evolve, while prioritizing safety, documentation integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Active LPN license in Alabama (current licensure required to practice).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a corrections facility environment; ability to pass background check and drug screening as part of onboarding.
- Relevant experience: LPN experience in long-term care or corrections settings is preferred.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Must be able to provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered care in a secure and structured setting and follow facility policies.
