Responsibilities
- Perform nursing procedures that require specialized training for general nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Doctor (MD), in accordance with established policy.
- Participate in the planning for and provision of patient care, including monitoring and supporting patient needs.
- Use aseptic technique in treatments, including sterile dressings and related wound care.
- Provide functional direction to ancillary personnel as assigned and coordinate care activities.
- Document patient care activities, observe and report changes in patient status to the supervising RN or MD.
Requirements
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in California (or current license eligibility in CA)
- Graduation from an approved LPN program (LPN diploma or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of recent LPN experience in an inpatient/acute-care setting
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications as required by the assignment
- Ability to work in an inpatient, acute-care setting and follow direction from RN/MD
