Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to neonatal and pediatric patients on the NICU unit, applying the nursing process from admission through discharge.
- Collaborate with physicians and the health care team to coordinate delivery of patient care and ensure safety and quality outcomes.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications and treatments, perform focused assessments, and respond to clinical changes promptly.
- Deliver age-appropriate teaching to patients and families; participate in discharge planning and continuity of care.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff within scope of practice and clinical competence.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record and contribute to unit quality and safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Active, current California RN license
- NICU experience preferred or ability to work in a NICU/pediatric care environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based hospital setting
- Availability for 12-hour day shifts on a 3x12 schedule
- Willingness to participate in a travel assignment and relocate to Marysville, CA for the 8-week period
- Strong communication and patient-family education skills
