Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients presenting to the emergency department; perform initial data collection and prioritization of care
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, manage IV access, and assist with procedures as ordered
- Document care and patient responses in the electronic health record; communicate updates to the care team
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other ED staff to deliver timely, safe care
- Provide patient and family education, discharge planning, and coordination for appropriate follow-up
- Ensure infection control practices, patient safety, and adherence to regulatory standards
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of Iowa
- Ability to obtain and maintain required credentialing for a travel assignment
- Willingness to work night shifts and weekend-night coverage consistent with the schedule
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced ED environment
- Ability to adapt to highly variable patient acuity and maintain clinical judgment
