Responsibilities
- Perform surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI)
- Develop, write and update infection prevention policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (The Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, CDC and other agency guidelines)
- Provide infection prevention education to staff and support ongoing staff competency in infection control practices
- Apply hospital epidemiology principles to monitor infection trends and support outbreak investigations as needed
- Conduct initial assessment and maintain records pertaining to work injuries and illnesses
- Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure completion of employee health screenings, annual immunization updates, and workers’ compensation reporting of employee injuries and illnesses

Requirements
- Proficiency in hospital epidemiology principles and infection prevention concepts
- Experience with surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of hospital-acquired infections
- Ability to write and update infection prevention policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory standards
- Capacity to maintain records related to work injuries and illnesses and coordinate with Human Resources on employee health screenings and immunization updates
- Ability to work in an inpatient acute care setting and adhere to a 12-hour day shift schedule
