Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative and PACU nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia
- Monitor recovery, including vitals, airway management, pain control, and fluid status
- Administer medications and fluids per protocol; document care in the medical record
- Collaborate with the surgical team, anesthesia providers, and unit staff; prepare for safe PACU discharge
- Respond promptly to emergent situations and ensure patient safety during recovery
- Educate patients and families on postoperative care and recovery expectations
Requirements
- PACU or pre-operative/post-anesthesia recovery nursing experience preferred
- Day shift availability with on-call duties
- Willingness to work in a rural hospital setting with limited public transportation; personal vehicle recommended
- Travel assignment for 13 weeks with guaranteed 40 hours per week
