Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to ER patients using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Triage, stabilize, monitor, and administer treatments and medications according to physician orders and clinical protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, APRNs, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate care and ensure safe, efficient patient flow.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC), maintain chart integrity, and participate in discharge planning and patient education.
- Ensure patient safety and infection control, respond to emergencies, and escalate concerns promptly.
- Provide guidance and supervision within the scope of practice as appropriate, while supporting a respectful, patient-centered environment.

Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California) or active state license eligible
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications required per policy
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification/competency required
- TEAM, CPI, or equivalent aggression management training required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Minimum two years of recent ER or acute care nursing experience
- BSN: preferred; Acute care facility experience: preferred
- Ability to work night shifts in a hospital ER setting
