Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.
- Utilize nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on a Med Surg unit.
- Support unit operations and patient flow through timely communication and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Float Pool policy: Float Pool nurses working a unit should always clock in to the unit being worked; education and non-productive hours may apply per unit rules.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a hospital Med Surg setting.
- Willingness to work 12-hour day shifts (3x12-hour schedule) totaling 36 hours per week.
- Must be prepared for a travel assignment and possible relocation to the service area.
- Adherence to unit policies and patient safety standards; ability to clock in to the unit when floated as applicable.
