Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments in an ambulatory care setting
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per orders; monitor responses
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record
- Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately to the provider
- Provide patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with providers and interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain infection control standards and participate in quality improvement activities
- Demonstrate professional practice and, as needed, support other departments or staff
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or another U.S. state; license must be active at time of submittal
- Direct Hire candidates must have applied for an Alaska nursing license before start date; agency staff must have an active Alaska license
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Case Management certification preferred
- Flu vaccination required
- Ability to work in an ambulatory clinic environment and to coordinate care with providers and the care team
- At least a general clinical nursing background; applicants must reside at least 100 miles away from the work site
