Responsibilities
- Clean, sterilize, and reprocess campus-wide instrumentation, including clinic instruments and endoscopes
- Perform endoscope processing (AER, manual cleaning, high-level disinfection) and general decontamination
- Assemble trays/sets, organize instruments, and ensure accurate labeling and tracking
- Operate washers/sterilizers and ultrasonic cleaners; follow standard sterile processing workflows
- Maintain aseptic technique and complete instrument documentation within the Epic charting system
- Participate in immediate-use sterilization procedures as required and support campus-wide sterile processing activities
Requirements
- Certification: Sterile processing certification (CBSPD, IAHCSMM, or equivalent)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience
- Certification: BLS required
- Charting: Epic charting experience required
- Endoscope reprocessing knowledge and general decontamination skills
- Must have a vehicle for this assignment
- Age groups served: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- References: 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
Note: Pre-start and annual modules required (self-reported completion). SSN and DOB are requested during processing. References should come from charge RNs/leads or similar supervisory roles. Return-to-work guidance allows up to 6 total days or 3 consecutive days auto-approved; >6 days requires approval. Holidays: must commit to 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day). Separate client guidance indicates travelers may be asked to float to nearby sister facilities; confirm with the account manager prior to placement.
