Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adults in the progressive care unit, including monitoring vital signs, hemodynamic status, and response to clinical changes.
- Administer medications and IV therapies as ordered, with accurate documentation in the patient chart.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans in collaboration with the health care team.
- Perform ongoing patient assessment, recognize deteriorating conditions, and escalate promptly per protocol.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure smooth handoffs during shift changes.
- Support discharge planning and patient/family education in coordination with the multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license to practice in Texas (or applicable compact licensure).
- PCU or related acute inpatient care experience preferred.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification recommended.
- Ability to work 8-hour evening shifts in a hospital setting.
- Willingness to participate in a travel assignment and comply with assignment duration and location terms.
