Nuclear Medicine Technologist — travel assignment in Los Angeles, California. Start date: 09/14/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $3,500 to $3,761 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Responsibilities
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation intravenously to detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment.
- Administer medical substances for imaging or other procedures and perform screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation.
- Prepare stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculate doses to be administered by radiologists.
- Coordinate patient flow and maintain procedure quality control; document all pertinent information regarding radioactive materials and surveys.
- Obtain pertinent patient information and disseminate preparation instructions to patient care areas; ensure safe handling and disposal of radioactive materials.
- Communicate questions, problems, or significant challenges to more senior staff and participate in ongoing quality improvement as needed.
Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: State Nuclear Medicine License required (CA and HI). ARRT in Nuclear Medicine or NMTCB certification required (CA and OR). Venipuncture certification required (CA and HI). HLFS (Hospital Fire and Life Safety) certification may be required by the facility.
- Education: Diploma or certificate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program required; Bachelor’s degree in nuclear medicine technology or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience in the field; current BLS certification; current nursing license per the state of assignment.
- Certifications/credentials: ARRT NM or NMTCB NM certification; Venipuncture certification.
- Work environment: Ability to work in a home healthcare - hospice setting; travel assignment with weekday day shift.
