Registered Nurse, Behavioral Health / Psychiatric — Lawton, Oklahoma, United States. Responsibilities
- Contribute to the formulation of the patient care plan and participate in treatment plan discussions with the care team.
- Attend weekly clinical staffing and review of patient treatment plans.
- Provide medication education to patients and families; ensure documentation in the patient chart is accurate and precise.
- Monitor emotional and mental observations and promptly report findings to medical and clinical staff; document observations accordingly.
- Lead teaching and educational groups on the unit and assist with de-escalation techniques; train LPNs and MHTs in charting, vital signs, patient routines, and proper de-escalation methods.
- Be an active member of a PI team or other unit task force; accept lectures, educational, or marketing assignments as directed by the Manager; maintain Therapeutic Options certification up to date.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Oklahoma
- Minimum 2 years of psychiatric/behavioral health nursing experience (required)
- Certifications: NIH, BLS (AHA) (required)
- De-Escalation training (preferred)
- Recent traveler experience (preferred)
- Ability to work in a hospital-based behavioral health unit in Lawton, OK
