Responsibilities
- Provide prescribed respiratory care to patients in an acute care setting under clinician orders
- Administer inhaled therapies, oxygen delivery, aerosol medications, and airway clearance techniques
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including ventilators and related devices
- Assess patient response to therapy, document findings, and communicate changes to the care team
- Participate in rounds and handoffs, ensuring continuity of respiratory care across shifts
- Adhere to infection prevention protocols and participate in department education sessions as required
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in Vermont (or eligibility aligned with travel assignment requirements)
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts (6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.) and cover every-other-weekend schedule as needed
- Completion of department quarterly education sessions as part of agency policy
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to function effectively in a hospital-based team
- Travel-ready with ability to complete orientation and comply with assignment-specific requirements
