Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered care to adults on an observation unit, including monitoring, assessment, and timely response to changes in condition.
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies, and implement care plans under physician orders; monitor and manage telemetry as required.
- Interpret telemetry and BCRA as part of ongoing patient assessment; escalate findings per protocol.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (nurses, physicians, therapists, case management) to coordinate care and ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Document thoroughly in the Epic EMR; maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
- Float to other Med-Surg units and, when skilled, to the ED; maintain competency across units and adhere to unit-specific protocols.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Ohio
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of current/recent Telemetry/Med-Surg experience; ability to read Telemetry/BCRA; competency will be assessed on day one
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN); licensure must be in good standing
- Proficiency: Epic EMR proficiency required; refresher training or sit-one-on-one support not available
- Additional: Ability to work nights in a clinic observation unit and float to other units as needed; ability to work 36 hours per week and adhere to required shift schedule
