Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and cognitive-communication assessments for residents
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans addressing communication and swallowing goals
- Reassess progress regularly and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Document evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (nursing, OT/PT, social work) to support resident outcomes
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, swallowing safety, and equipment use as appropriate
Requirements
- Active Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility for Texas licensure
- Ability to work in a long-term care / skilled nursing setting
- Availability to start on 05/11/2026 and commit to a 13-week assignment
- Ability to work 36 hours per week, daytime shifts
- Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills
