Respiratory Therapist (Registered) – Registered Respiratory Therapist role in Mattoon, Illinois, United States. Start date: May 18, 2026. Travel assignment for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,854–$1,900. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 3x12 Nights. Setting: hospital-type acute care environment.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate and administer respiratory care per physician orders/protocols; monitor patient response and document progress.
- Assemble, check function, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment; identify and correct malfunctions to ensure patient safety.
- Assess cardiopulmonary status and collect pertinent clinical information to inform care plans.
- Perform therapeutic procedures to support ventilation and airway maintenance; manage artificial airways and assist with bronchial secretion clearance.
- Determine the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory care plans; modify as indicated and participate in care-plan development.
- Respond to emergencies, initiate or adjust respiratory techniques as needed, and maintain infection control standards; provide in-service education as applicable.
- Eligible to participate in adult endotracheal intubation in code blue events after completion of training and competency, where required and available.
Requirements
- Active Illinois Respiratory Care License
- Active NBRC credential (RRT)
- Active American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
- Minimum 2 years of CRT experience; adult critical care experience required
- Emergency Department experience; Neonatal/Pediatrics experience; experience with all patient populations
- Cerner EMR experience
- Ability to work in a hospital setting
- Permanent address must be outside a 50-mile radius of the assignment location (facility will not consider local candidates)
