Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg Tele admissions, including assessment, planning, and documentation
- Float to Med/Surg and Tele units as needed, maintaining patient safety and care continuity
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications per policy, and manage IVs and clinical equipment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans and respond to changes in patient status
- Adhere to established protocols for rapid response and escalation when NIHSS, BLS, or ACLS indications arise
- Ensure timely completion of documentation in Epic and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records
Requirements
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS required (NIHSS must be completed prior to start)
- Experience: minimum of 2 years in Med/Surg Tele; prior travel experience required
- Setting: teaching hospital experience preferred
- Systems: Epic experience within the past 2 years is required
- Additional credentials: PCCN or orthopedic certifications preferred
- Other: float capability to MS Tele and MS units as needed; reliable transportation required for assignment
