Responsibilities
- Perform and supervise MRI examinations across protocols, including neuro, abdomen, MSK, pelvis, chest, and spine, plus vascular MR (MRA/MRV) and cardiac/pulmonary MR as indicated.
- Optimize imaging through protocol selection and parameter adjustments on Siemens MRI systems; ensure high-quality studies with appropriate patient positioning and safety measures.
- Administer contrast when indicated, initiate and manage peripheral IV access, monitor patients for adverse reactions, and follow PPE and isolation precautions.
- Document procedures and findings in the charting system (Epic), ensure accurate patient records, and communicate results to radiologists and referring teams.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff (IV teams, Respiratory, Interpretation services, Radiology, Rapid Response, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary) to maintain smooth workflow and patient care.
- Participate in on-call coverage as scheduled and contribute to unit safety, patient turnover, and image quality optimization.
Requirements
- Active state or compact MRI license in hand at time of submittal (NJ or eligible compact accepted)
- Certifications: ARMRIT or ARRT (MR); BLS
- Experience: Minimum 1 year MRI experience
- Setting: ability to work in an adult patient population within a hospital imaging environment
- Equipment: Siemens MR experience preferred
- Onboarding: complete core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing; orientation modules onsite
- 50-mile radius rule: no local candidates (posting requirement)
