Travel Registered Nurse Outpatient Job
Registered Nurse – Outpatient Thoracic Surgery. Location: Lawrenceville, Georgia (with time split to Atlanta area locations). Start date: 06/22/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: 1,626–1,728 per week. Guaranteed hours: 40. Shift: 7:30 am–4:00 pm, Monday–Friday. This is a travel temporary assignment in an outpatient surgical care setting in the Atlanta metro region.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to outpatient thoracic surgery patients, including pre-procedure assessment and post-procedure recovery
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, manage pain, and assist with wound care and dressing changes
- Collaborate with the surgical team and ancillary staff to ensure safe, efficient patient flow and timely discharges
- Document care activities and patient progress in the electronic health record; communicate changes to the care team
- Educate patients and families on procedures, post-discharge care, and medication instructions; coordinate follow-up needs
- Adhere to infection control standards, patient safety protocols, and applicable regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Active registered nurse (RN) license (Georgia or eligible for Georgia licensure)
- AHA BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in outpatient surgical or thoracic surgery-related specialty
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient setting and travel between two metro-area locations as needed
- Comfort working Monday–Friday, with daytime hours
