X-Ray Technologist – Radiology travel assignment in Rochester, New York. Start date: May 11, 2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Shift: 12-hour shifts. Weekly pay: $2,041 to $2,228 per week. Employment type: Travel - Temporary Assignment (Hospital setting). This assignment includes weekend coverage with a schedule that includes Friday afternoons, Saturdays, and Sundays, plus 2–3 on-call shifts per month. On-call shifts require reporting within 30 minutes. The position requires recent OR experience and operating room imaging, with exposure to C-arm/O-arm equipment.

Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity and review physician orders prior to imaging.
- Use radiographic equipment to acquire diagnostic images of bones, tissues, and organs per orders.
- Explain procedures to patients and address questions; position patients, including lifting/moving as needed.
- Operate x-ray equipment safely, minimizing patient dose while maintaining image quality.
- Observe patient status and tailor imaging to age-specific needs; produce high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
- Ensure images are correctly identified and sent to PACS; adhere to dual patient identifier procedures.
- Monitor and report equipment issues promptly; maintain compliance with department policies.
- Document and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic information system.
Requirements
- Education: Completion of formal radiologic technology training from an approved program.
- Certification: ARRT certification in Radiography; NYS license (or ability to obtain prior to starting).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience; Level 1 trauma center experience preferred.
- On-call readiness: Ability to report within 30 minutes to on-call shifts.
- Specific skills: Experience with C-arm/O-arm imaging in the past 8 months; prior OR imaging experience is required.
- Physical capabilities: Ability to move or lift patients; ability to stand for extended periods.
- Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) required.
- Other: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective written and verbal communication; team-oriented with a patient-centered approach.
