Registered Nurse, PCU travel assignment in Utica, NY. Start date: 06/29/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $3,036–$3,264. Guaranteed hours: 48 per week. Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients in IMCU/PCU, including neuro, cardiac, trauma, COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, CV step-down, and post-operative patients
- Monitor vital signs, assess patient status, identify changes, and escalate as needed; respond to alarms and clinical deteriorations
- Manage complex devices and therapies as allowed on unit, including arterial lines, chest tubes, temporary pacers, BiPAP support, and chronic vent assistance with RT collaboration
- Administer medications and IV therapies, monitor responses, and ensure safe administration per policy
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EPIC electronic medical record; communicate with the care team and physicians; participate in rounds and care planning
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate documentation, procedures, discharges, and patient/family education
- Assist with nocturnal rounds, ensure patient safety, and support rapid mobilization and recovery activities as appropriate
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York; current Nursys license verification
- Minimum 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience; must have recent, relevant travel or acute-care experience
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
- EMR experience: EPIC proficiency
- Ability to work in a high-acuity PCU/IMCU setting; shift is night-based with 12-hour blocks
- RTO (time-off) requests must be included at submission
- Local candidates within 75 miles eligible for local rates
- Education: Graduation from an approved registered nursing program (RN)
