X-Ray Technologist – Radiology

Weekly pay: $2,311–$2,410 per week

Key Highlights
- Travel assignment for 13 weeks in a hospital setting
- Shift: 12-hour coverage with a schedule of Mon–Thu 8:30am–6:00pm and Fri 8:00am–Noon; on-call shifts included
- On-call requirement: 2–3 shifts per month; must report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts
- Location: Rochester, NY
Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity and review physician orders prior to performing radiographic procedures
- Operate radiographic equipment to capture diagnostic images per physician orders
- Explain procedures to patients and answer questions; provide patient care and comfort during imaging
- Position patients accurately; assist with mobility as needed
- Use imaging equipment safely and maintain radiation dose minimization for patient protection
- Verify patient information in electronic systems, ensure correct exam details, and send images to the PACS
- Adhere to dual patient identifier procedures and maintain accurate imaging records
- Notify management of any damaged or malfunctioning equipment
Requirements
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology
- ARRT certification
- NYS license (or ability to obtain license prior to starting)
- 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience
- Level 1 trauma center experience
- OR experience with recent C-arm/O-arm usage (within the past 8 months)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Ability to move or lift patients and stand for extended periods
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong written and verbal communication
- Patient-focused, compassionate disposition and ability to work well in a team
- Ability to report within 30 minutes to on-call shifts
Education and Certifications
- Formal training from an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT certification
- NYS license or eligibility to obtain before start
- BLS certification
