Travel Registered Nurse Acute Care Job
Observation RN (Acute Care) – Olympia, Washington. Start date: 06/30/2026. Duration: Weeks. Shift: 3x12 Days. Weekly pay: $1,835-$1,979 per week. Employment Type: Travel - Temporary Assignment. Setting: hospital-based short-term acute care observation unit. Travel eligibility: non-local candidates only; local travelers within 50 miles of the assignment location are not eligible for this travel contract.

Responsibilities
- Provide RN care in an Observation unit for adults and geriatrics, including a mix of long-length-of-stay patients and up to 8 acute medical beds
- Monitor patient status, perform assessments, document changes, respond to deteriorations, and support patients with dementia/cognitive/behavioral needs
- Administer medications and IV therapies per orders; perform wound care (including wound VAC when applicable); manage feeding tubes; care for peripheral/central lines and ports; administer blood products; oversee oxygen therapy
- Assist with post-procedure overnight stays and admissions/discharges; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Transport, Unit Secretary)
- Ensure patient safety and mobility using available lifts and mobility equipment; document care in EPIC and communicate care plans to the team
- Floating: Regularly float to similar units within the assigned skill set; observe unit nurse-patient ratios (Days 1:4; Nights 1:5; Weekends 1:5)
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license to practice in Washington state
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Acute care/observation experience preferred; LTAC experience preferred (not required); first-time travelers accepted
- EPIC charting experience or exposure to EPIC; ability to work in a hospital setting; ability to float to similar units; weekend coverage every other weekend
- RTO restrictions: None (pre-approved time off preferred to keep under 7 days)
