Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and direct supervision to nursing staff on assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to standards of care
- Coordinate and oversee patient care activities across the unit, prioritizing tasks based on acuity and patient needs
- Monitor staffing levels and adjust deployment in accordance with unit policies, patient acuity, and regulatory requirements
- Support nurses in managing emergencies and complex clinical situations, guiding decision-making and escalation as needed
- Facilitate ongoing staff development, competency assessments, and performance coaching for nurses on shift and during weekends
- Collaborate with Nursing Managers, off-site Clinical Leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and ensure consistent care delivery
Requirements
- NYS RN Licensure (active)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI certification within 90 days of hire
- 3 years of acute care RN experience; 1 year critical care experience (preferably ED)
- 1 year leadership/charge nurse experience
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical problem-solving skills
