Travel Physical Therapist Job
Physical Therapist | Travel assignment in Milan, New Mexico. Start date 05/25/2026 for a 12-week contract with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Weekly pay range is $2,165–$2,354. Shift: Days, 8-hour shifts. Setting: inpatient and outpatient physical therapy within a hospital-based travel assignment. This role supports patient function restoration, pain relief, and prevention of disabilities through medically prescribed therapy in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities
- Assess and interpret evaluation results to develop individualized physical therapy plans in collaboration with physicians or per prescribed orders; aim to meet patient goals with evidence-based interventions.
- Administer manual therapies, therapeutic activities, and functional training; educate and coach patients in non-manual exercises, gait training, daily living skills, and proper use of assistive devices.
- Deliver hands-on treatments including manual techniques and modalities (eg, heat/cold therapy, ultrasound, hydrotherapy, traction) and supervise therapies performed by aides, technicians, and assistants.
- Monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and adjust treatment plans to optimize functional recovery; assess device fit, prosthetic/orthotic needs, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Plan discharge and continuity of care: create home exercise programs, educate patients and caregivers, and arrange outpatient or home health follow-up as needed.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in patient records to support care continuity and regulatory compliance; uphold infection control and safety standards within the clinical environment.
Requirements
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program
- Current, valid Physical Therapist license in the state of practice or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Education: DPT; Licensure: active or eligible in New Mexico
- Experience: preferred clinical experience in hospital, outpatient, or rehab settings; new graduates with strong clinical rotations encouraged
- Availability to begin on or around 05/25/2026 and work across inpatient and outpatient settings as required
