Responsibilities
- Perform pre-test nursing assessments to evaluate patient readiness for stress testing, including vital signs, history, and medication review; identify contraindications and escalate as needed.
- Prepare patients for stress tests, including education on the procedure, application of monitoring leads, and proper positioning.
- Monitor patients during testing, evaluating vital signs, ECG rhythm, oxygen saturation, and overall clinical condition; recognize and respond to changes per protocol.
- Administer medications for pharmacologic stress testing according to facility protocols (if credentialed and allowed); operate treadmill, bicycle, or pharmacologic stress testing systems and ECG monitoring equipment.
- Document test procedures, observations, and results accurately in the electronic medical record; maintain testing equipment, troubleshoot minor issues, and report malfunctions promptly.
- Collaborate with cardiology providers and the cardiopulmonary team; assist in coordinating test schedules and ensuring smooth department workflow; participate in quality improvement activities and departmental meetings as applicable.

Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Licenses/ Certifications: Current Oregon RN license; BLS certification; ACLS certification.
- Additional training: CRASE training; if travel assignment extends beyond six months, CRASE training will be required.
- Experience: Experience with cardiac stress testing, ECG interpretation, or cardiopulmonary diagnostics preferred.
- General: Ability to work in a fast-paced, inpatient setting and to float to other departments where qualified to perform patient care, per policy.
