Radiation Therapist needed for a travel assignment in Marysville, California. This role supports a Home Healthcare - Hospice setting, delivering external beam radiation therapy using a linear accelerator and CT/Sim imaging. Responsibilities
- Operate 1 linear accelerator and 1 CT/Sim machine to deliver prescribed radiation therapy per the treatment plan.
- Prepare and position patients for treatment, using immobilization devices and ensuring comfort and accuracy.
- Verify patient identity, treatment site, and field setup; confirm alignment with the treatment plan.
- Collaborate with the radiation oncology team, including MAs, other Radiation Therapists, and the RN, to ensure safe and efficient workflow.
- Document treatment sessions and maintain accurate records in the unit’s system (Cerner Aria or equivalent).
- Monitor patient status during treatment, address questions or concerns, and coordinate with nursing staff regarding side effects and care needs.
- Adhere to safety protocols, perform routine equipment checks, and participate in unit-specific QA procedures.
Requirements
- Experience operating a linear accelerator and CT/Sim equipment in a cancer care setting.
- Ability to work in a home healthcare – hospice environment and participate in a block scheduling model.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with MAs, therapists, and nursing staff.
- Familiarity with electronic documentation systems (e.g., Cerner Aria or similar).
- Willingness to participate in a travel assignment and adapt to a busy, multi-disciplinary workflow.
- Commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
