Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse, Med Surg – Lamar, Colorado. Travel assignment beginning 05/04/2026 for 13 weeks in a hospital/critical access hospital medical-surgical unit. Guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift: 3x12-hour nights (7:00 pm–7:00 am). Weekly pay range: $2,420–$2,548 per week.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to a defined medical-surgical patient group on the night shift, including assessment, data collection, and documentation of care.
- Develop and implement a goal-directed plan of care by prioritizing patient needs and coordinating with the interdisciplinary team; adjust plans as the patient condition evolves.
- Respond efficiently to emergencies per established protocols, stay calm under pressure, notify appropriate providers, and document all events thoroughly.
- Supervise LPNs and Nursing Aides on the unit, assign tasks, and support staffing needs to maintain safe, quality care.
- Report directly to the Acute Care Services Manager and communicate patient status, changes, and safety concerns as part of daily rounding and handoffs.
- Special Demands: Work in a mental environment with frequent crisis intervention; maintain physical stamina with constant walking/standing, reaching, twisting, bending, lifting, and handling of equipment; frequent exposure to blood, body fluids, and potential communicable diseases.
Requirements
- Active Colorado registered nursing license
- Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ACLS certification or eligibility to obtain within 12 months of employment
- Prior related nursing experience; medical-surgical experience preferred; new graduates with one year of Med-Surg experience may be considered
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a hospital/critical access hospital Med-Surg unit
