Responsibilities

- Perform patient assessments, including NIHSS as required, and respond promptly to changes in clinical status
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and the broader health care team to implement and update care plans
- Uphold patient safety, infection control practices, fall precautions, and adherence to AHA BLS protocols
- Provide discharge planning support and patient education consistent with unit standards
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license with the ability to practice in the appropriate state
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Med Surg nursing experience
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
- NIHSS certification or demonstrated NIHSS competency required
- Ability to work a 12-hour night shift schedule, Mon–Sun across a 12x3 rotation
- Comfortable working on a Med Surg unit with adult patient populations and documentation in electronic health records
