Responsibilities
- Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning to consistently produce diagnostic-quality radiographs.
- In interventional radiology settings, assist Radiologist during procedures and administer oral contrast as needed; prep patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic exams.
- Operate and troubleshoot x-ray equipment, computed radiography (CR) and digital radiography (DR) systems; report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Maintain patient safety, comfort and privacy; communicate clearly with patients and team; manage patient rights in all interactions.
- Document procedures in Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS; participate in performance improvement initiatives as requested.
- Utilize downtime between procedures to support the department (clerical tasks, stocking, patient transport) and maintain good workflow.
Requirements
- Active New York State license to practice radiologic technology.
- ARRT (ARRT) certification required.
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification required.
- Minimum 2 years radiology experience; interventional radiology experience preferred; neurosurgery/neuroscience experience required.
- Ability to work 4x10-hour shifts, including days, weekends, and on-call/callback as needed.
- Experience with interventional radiology procedures and comfort in fast-paced clinical settings.
