Responsibilities
- Operate CT equipment to produce cross-sectional images; perform accompanying imaging modalities such as general radiography and fluoroscopy as assigned.
- Position patients, select appropriate exposure factors, optimize image quality, and minimize radiation exposure; review images for quality before radiologist interpretation.
- Utilize PACS and teleradiology systems to transfer images securely; maintain accurate documentation and patient data in compliance with HIPAA.
- Maintain imaging equipment, perform routine calibration and preventive maintenance, manage supply inventories and contrast materials; participate in equipment recalls or safety checks as needed.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other care team members; assist with OR imaging, on-call coverage, and charting of procedures.
- Provide venipuncture and IV access support for contrast administration when required; monitor patient status during imaging and respond to any adverse events.
- Adhere to infection control, radiation safety, and patient-identification protocols; contribute to a positive, patient-centered imaging workflow.
Requirements
- Active California Radiologic Technologist license (RT) with ARRT registration in RT(R) and CT; or ARRT RT(R) with CT credential; CA state licensure required.
- Advanced CT certification preferred in California; required in some jurisdictions.
- BLS certification from an approved provider; Fluoroscopy license in CA if operating fluoroscopy; Venipuncture certification.
- Education: Associate degree in Radiologic Technology (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent radiology experience; EPIC experience preferred; capable of performing X-ray, OR imaging, and call duties.
- Operational requirements: Ability to work a travel assignment with rotating weekend/weekday schedules; ability to work in a hospital imaging environment and adhere to cross-functional duties.
