Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in the PCU with neurological needs
- Perform frequent neurological assessments and monitor for changes in condition
- Administer medications and IV therapies, including neuro-specific therapies, and document in the EMR
- Utilize NIHSS scoring per CV packet and coordinate with the neuro- or step-down team as indicated
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, and other disciplines to develop and implement care plans
- Ensure patient safety, accurate documentation, and timely escalation of urgent concerns
- Prepare patients and families for transfer or discharge as appropriate and participate in care rounds
- Demonstrate proficiency with the EPIC electronic medical record system
Requirements
- Current, active RN license to practice in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in PCU, neuro, or step-down units
- Neuro experience required; NIHSS must appear in CV packet to be considered
- ACLS certification; EPIC EMR experience
- Education: nursing degree from an accredited program; evidence of licensure
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting, including night shifts and weekend availability
- Candidate profile must include: work history/resume with no gaps greater than 60 days, skills checklist, references, certification card, Nursys license verification
- NIHSS competency and documentation in CV packet
