Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adults in an observation unit with varying acuity
- Monitor patients, perform assessments, and document vital signs and clinical changes; administer medications per orders
- Collaborate with ED and inpatient teams to coordinate patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Implement care plans, assist with procedures as ordered, ensure infection control, and maintain patient safety and comfort
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record and communicate changes to the care team
- May float to other areas within competency as needed and participate in discharge planning and patient education
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience in an observation/monitored environment or a comparable setting
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC preferred
- Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Willingness to float to other areas within competency as needed
- Current, active registered nurse license in Georgia
