Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate nursing care for cardiac and postoperative surgical patients on telemetry
- Monitor telemetry data and patient status; administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders; manage tubes, lines, and drains as appropriate
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop and adjust individualized care plans; perform discharge planning and patient education
- Document care and patient responses in the electronic health record; ensure safety protocols and infection control standards are followed
- Potential to assume expanded roles on the unit, including charge nurse, preceptor duties, and committee participation as assigned
Requirements
- Active New York RN license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry experience required
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and a schedule that includes weekends/holidays/on-call
