Responsibilities
- Deliver direct emergency nursing care to a broad patient population in a fast-paced ED, with typical ratios around 1:4 (days/nights/weekends)
- Triage, stabilize, and manage patients; perform airway management, ventilator care, and rapid assessment; administer medications and IV therapies; establish 12-lead EKG interpretation and STEMI/stroke protocols as indicated
- Provide trauma, wound care, procedural sedation, and overdose/seizure management; support behavioral health holds as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Interpretation Services, and Unit Secretary; participate in patient/discharge planning and family communication
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EPIC); adhere to infection prevention, isolation, PPE, and safety protocols
- May float within the ED service line per facility policy
- Complete required pre-employment steps and pre-start testing as part of the onboarding process
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years RN ER experience; travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Active RN license (MO or compact required for MO; IL requires license in hand at submittal); pending license accepted per compliance notes
- Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH, PALS; STEMI & Stroke certified facility; CPI and TNCC preferred
