Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy assistant services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist for patients in LTAC, focusing on gait training, therapeutic exercises, range of motion, strength, and functional mobility.
- Assist with activity of daily living training and discharge planning in collaboration with the PT, OT, and SLPA teams.
- Monitor patient response to treatment, document progress notes, and communicate changes in patient status to the supervising PT.
- Maintain equipment, ensure infection control practices, and adhere to safety and documentation standards in a hospital rehab setting.
- Participate in team rounds and family/patient education as appropriate, contributing to treatment plans and goal setting.
- Support a high-quality patient experience through effective communication, professionalism, and adherence to department policies.

Requirements
- Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in Alaska or eligibility for licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
- Ability to work in a hospital-based rehab department with a PT/OT/SLPA team
- Experience in inpatient rehabilitation or LTAC settings preferred
- Willingness to work the 5x8 day shift with guaranteed hours in a 13-week assignment
- Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills; ability to manage a varied caseload in a fast-paced environment
