Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the emergency department for patients across ages using the nursing process.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, monitor status, and develop, implement, and adjust care plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and monitor telemetry; respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, case management, and treatment teams; participate in discharge planning and patient/family education.
- Document care and interventions accurately in the patient record; uphold patient safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice.
Requirements
- Current California RN license in good standing
- BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications required
- CPI/TEAM or TEAM-A or equivalent conflict management programs required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- At least two years of recent ER or acute care nursing experience
- BSN degree preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital ER environment and meet travel assignment requirements
