Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients in the ER according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess patient conditions, monitor status, document findings, and respond to changes in clinical condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary teams, and support staff to coordinate patient care.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, utilizing professional judgment and supervision as needed.
- Maintain safety, comfort, and privacy for patients and their families while applying critical thinking and independent judgment in fast-paced emergencies.
Requirements
- Active RN license (state-appropriate) eligible for ER practice
- Ability to work evening, 12-hour shifts and meet travel assignment requirements
- Strong clinical assessment skills and proficiency with the nursing process
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities in a multidisciplinary environment
- Eligibility to participate in a travel assignment and pass credentialing requirements
- Basic life support (BLS) certification or equivalent as applicable to ER practice
