Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for residents in a long-term care setting; perform assessments, implement care plans, and monitor residents’ conditions
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments; document nursing notes and changes in the medical record
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to implement care plans; communicate with physicians, families, and ancillary staff
- Monitor for changes in patient conditions, respond to emergencies, and ensure safety and comfort of residents
- Maintain accurate documentation and complete shift handoffs; uphold infection control and safety protocols
- Supervise and support nursing assistants as assigned, ensuring high-quality resident care
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in New York
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric care preferred
- Ability to work nights and maintain a 40-hour work week
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team and residents’ families
