Responsibilities
- Provide intraoperative nursing care as the OR First Assistant (RNFA), supporting the surgeon and maintaining sterile technique across procedures.
- Assist with exposure, tissue handling, hemostasis, suctioning, and retraction; manage instruments and implants.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient positioning, line placement, counts, and safety checks are completed accurately.
- Document perioperative events and maintain clear communication with circulating nurses and scrub personnel.
- Participate in after-hours call coverage as assigned and assist with patient handoffs and recovery documentation.

Requirements
- Unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice (California)
- CNOR certification (Required)
- 1–2 years of experience as an RN First Assistant (RNFA) (Required)
- CPR/BLS certification (Required)
- Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) certification (Preferred)
- Additional notes: PEARS/PALS and AORN membership preferred; CVOR experience optional
